Route 414 was introduced as part of the bus improvements plan for the introduction of the congestion zone in 2003, it has changed only slightly since introduction. Once running from Maida Vale to Fulham High Street, it was rerouted to Maida Hill on 29 January 2005 and extended a slightly to Putney Bridge Station at the same time.
