Lomas Athletic Club

Lomas Athletic Club are a sports club from Buenos Aires in Argentina. They currently concentrate on the sports of Bowls, Cricket, Rugby, Tennis, Hockey and Golf. The club were founded on March 15, 1891 by English immigrants.

Lomas Athletic Club are probably most famous for being only the 2nd team to be recognised as football champions of Argentina, winning the title at their first attempt.

Lomas Athletic were one of the most successful teams during the amateur era of Argentine football. They won a total of 5 championships between 1893 and 1898 but the club were relegated from the top flight in 1909.

Lomas Athletic Club is also well known for being a founding member of all the sports associations where the club has a team, including Asociación Argentina de Golf, Asociación Argentina de Tenis, Union Argentina de Rugby, Argentine Cricket Association, and Asociación Amateur Argentina de Hockey sobre Césped (field hockey).
