Lok Bhalai Party (LBP) was floated by B.S.Ramoowalia in 1999 to take up causes of Punjabis, who has been duped by unscrupulous travel agents of lakhs of rupees grabbed on false promise of sending them abroad. Lok Bhalai Party fights for other social causes, including of holiday wife girls who are wedded to visiting Punjabi Non-resident Indian and then dumped after the husbands go back and never return.
B.S.Ramoowalia, founder president of Lok Bhalai Party is an active politician and former Member of Parliament from Faridkot and Sangrur and former Union Minister for Social Welfare.

Lok Bhalai Party has seen the participation of a large number of women, especially those deserted or cheated by their Non-resident Indian grooms. LBP is concentrating on the various socio-economic issues such as:
- Dignity of daughters.
- Punishment for fraudulent travel agents.
- Concern for Non-resident Indian.
