[edit] License tagging for Image:Sylvievalayre2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Sylvievalayre2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

[edit] Images

Images and text uploaded to Wikipedia must be licensed under the GFDL or be public domain. The GFDL is a very loose licence, and permits, for example, commercial use.

If the copyright holder allows only more restricted usage, (such as Wikipedia only, educational use only, non-commercial use only), to protect their rights Wikipedia cannot accept the images. Assuming you tagged them correctly when uploading, they had to be deleted. Sorry, jimfbleak 13:26, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Incidentally, I didn't check the copyright of the audio and video links, but i suspect that the Youtube download at least is non GFDL copyright material. However,I didn't want to make this look like a vendetta, so I stopped with the images. jimfbleak 13:37, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
