[edit] Comment
The page for Dashmate refers to an actual am/fm/cb radio that was made in 1965 by sears-roebuck & co. and should not be deleted. The one I have is the only one that somehowe survived and works flawlessly the way it's supose to. I don't have alot of info on the radio because of this but what's on there now is a very good description of the radio and should be left in the wikipedia. I have pleaded my case.
A tag has been placed on Dashmate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb 11:03, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] License tagging for Image:Another shot of the Front.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Another shot of the Front.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Signature
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! Stifle (talk) 21:54, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RE: Dashmate
i have here what i believe to be a very much valid article on an am/fm/cb radio that was made in 1965. I have personal pictures for refrences as no other info is available due to it's rarity. I've basicaly been gaven put-down after put-down that the article holds no merrit and that because it's a rare item, no one will be intereted in it. I'm pleading my case to keep the article in wikipedia because of it's rarity. I mean, I can understand if an article was pertaining to say, me posting a picture and sayimg im cool, but this is pertaining to an actual object, a radio that's part of american history. I feel it should be part of wikipedia. I know I have little information on it right at this moment but I would be adding any/all info I come across to the radio. The closest I've come is guy on ebay was selling a sears am/fm dashmate with an 8-track player instead of the cb radio.
I hope we can get this worked out, Matt/Logansryche

Look. I can see how passionate you are about your Dashmate radio. So it is a piece of memorabilia. The problem, here, is that, like all encyclopedias, Wikipedia is not about memorabilia. It is about notable subjects. No article is started on a subject unless a significant number of people would spontaneously look for that particular subject. Besides you, how many people do you think have never seen or heard about your Dashmate who will type "Dashmate" in the search box? This, I believe, is the greatest indicator of notability. In an encyclopedia, the Dashmate therefore does not warrant an article of its own. We are encyclopedia writers, not museum curators. However, it may warrant a mention in other, more general, articles.
If you want the Dashmate to have an entry of its own, I think the best place for it is a virtual museum. There, people look around, they see your Dashmate, and then they may ask for more information about it. That's what museums do. But encyclopedias are hardly written for that purpose. --Blanchardb 17:27, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Sockpuppetry case
You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/Logansryche for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. TonyBallioni 20:56, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- I closed the Logansryche SSP matter as being a good faith mistake on your part. -- Jreferee t/c 19:23, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for the inconvenience. I take double "voting" at afd's very seriously and when I saw what looked to be that I opened a suspected sock puppets case; when I should have contacted you first. Again sorry for the inconvenience. TonyBallioni 21:08, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Suburban.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Suburban.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:33, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
