How can this be a crater and at the same time not exposed to the surface? I don't understand.

"Impact crater" means a geologic formation caused by a collision of meteor, not just the bowl-shaped depression. Over time, craters tend to get eroded and buried. They can still be detected due to deformations of bedrock, magnetic anomalies an so on.--Jyril 16:32, Jun 9, 2005 (UTC)
