Loganville High School is located in Walton County, Georgia. The county is centrally located between Atlanta and Athens. Loganville is approximately 35 miles east of Atlanta and 38 miles west of Athens.

USA Today recently recognized Walton County as the 57th fastest growing county in the United States of America. The county’s explosive growth is evident with a population of 69,381 according to the 2003 U.S. Census estimate. Walton County has nine elementary, three middle, and two high schools, a Performance Learning Center, and Walton Career Academy.

Loganville High School is a public, four-year comprehensive high school for grades nine through twelve. Loganville High School is accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The present Loganville High School facility was first occupied in the fall of 1998. In January 2002, a new wing was opened to house an additional 450 students. Currently, the Freshman Academy is housed on the Loganville Middle School Campus. Organized by instructional teams, the teachers are making the transition to high school easier for the ninth graders.

Total Enrollment: With an enrollment of approximately 2,025 students, LHS is a school in transition from rural to urban.

Loganville High School employs 137 teachers, 5 administrators, 4 counselors, and 2 media specialists. Twenty-two staff members have gifted certification. The school employs 5 secretaries, 10 paraprofessionals, 2 school resource officers, 1 school nurse and 8 other support personnel. In addition to the employed staff, approximately 5 parent volunteers supplement the secretarial and administrative support positions on a regular basis. Many more volunteer their services on testing days and other special occasions.

The current principal is Mr. Nathan Franklin. The assistant principals are Mr. Mike Robison, Ms. Carole Hicks, Ms. Mistye Meador, Mr. Rick Weeks.

LHS is on a 4x4 block schedule that offers a range of academic, technology/career, and elective credits.

Foreign Language: four levels each of Spanish, French, and Latin are available .

Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP): Work-based learning is offered through YAP. The areas of concentration include cosmetology, business, early childhood education, construction, horticulture, and health care.

Walton Career Academy: Offers students a chance to take collegiate level courses during their high school career through the Walton County Public School System. Students can receive both high school and college credit.

Eleven AP courses are offered at LHS. Currently, approximately 200 students take advantage of Advanced Placement course offerings. Courses are weighted by adding 10 points to the total class grade.
