Loewe (pronounced /luːˈeɪveɪ/[citation needed] "Loo-ay-vay" in English) is a Spanish luxury clothing and accessories brand owned by the LVMH Group.
It was originally founded in 1846 in Madrid by a group of Spanish leather craftsmen, and the brand originated in 1876 when Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German craftsman, joined the group.
King Alfonso XIII of Spain granted Enrique Loewe Hinton, a descendant of the original brand founder, the title of Supplier to the Royal Court. His wife, Queen Victoria Eugenie, visited the store on Príncipe Pío frequently.
The current Queen consort of Spain, Queen Sofía, has been seen several times with Loewe handbags.
Some of its main boutiques can be found in London, Bangkok, Barcelona, Beijing, Bogotá, Hong Kong, Honolulu, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, Mexico City, Osaka, Paris, Shanghai, Seoul, Sydney, Tokyo and San Francisco International Airport.
