Block quote

Loen is the home to some of the oldest farms in Norway, Sæten (Setin), Tjugen (Tyfin) and Loen, that probably were established long before the time of christianity. [1], [2]

Much of the upper Loen valley was devastated from two rockfall avalanches (one in 1905 and one in 1936) that created huge waves that swept with them most of the houses and vegetation. A total of 135 people were killed in the two avalanches. [1], [2]

From Loen it is possible to visit the Bødal glacier. And through the loenvalley you will see the diamond of this place, Sæten, where many "store sønner" have been raised. They fought and they survived through generations.

Near by is the museum Jostedalsbreen nasjonalparksenter.
