[edit] Article's Accuracy and Scope Improved
While I did not initiate this article, and am not in a position of authority to discuss redirection choices, I can say with confidence that this article has now been updated, corrected, and expanded. Hopefully, this will satisfy the concerns of the posting below, which we partially shared. Thanks from LoDo District, Inc.
[edit] Inappropriate Redirect, Confusion Between Downtown Denver and LoDo
I would strongly suggest that the Downtown Denver article should not redirect to the LoDo article, but that this should be reversed. LoDo is just one part of Downtown Denver, though many who do not live downtown refer to them synonymously. This does not change the fact that Downtown is larger than LoDo.
Those who know Downtown Denver well, including residents of Downtown, will tell you that LoDo refers to the just the lower area of Downtown from Larimer St or Lawrence St to Wynkoop St, between Spear Blvd and 23rd St. Further, the bounds given for LoDo in this article are in fact the bounds of all of Downtown Denver and the bounds of LoDo lie inside of them. The LoDo article should redirect to the Downtown Denver article where LoDo is one section of the article. Again, those familiar with downtown will explain that upper downtown (near Broadway) is very distinct from LoDo and the area between Lawrence and California is really more of a midtown or theatre district, but again distinct from LoDo.
This article looks like it was created by someone who lives in Littleton and knows Downtown Denver only as the place where the "LoDo" bars are located. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.224.11.131 (talk) 18:08, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- If that's the case, I think that we should merge LoDo, Denver into Downtown Denver. EvanS • talk |sign here 19:34, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] LoDo Section Expansion
Hey all, I decided to expand the LoDo section, so it is no longer a stub. If you have anything you would like to add, please do so. I would like to find out some population data on the neighborhood, but I couldn't find any. Most of the history section came from [1]. Vertigo700 18:10, 10 July 2005 (UTC)
