Lodekka is the side-project of London-based multi-instrumental musician and graphic designer Stuart Dace. In Dace’s career he has been a session sax player on the Primal Scream album Screamadelica, was a member of Mo Wax signings Deep Joy and has also worked as Head Of Design at Chrysalis Records.

Lodekka is Dace’s latest project. The music, allegedly all recorded late at night in Dace’s garden shed studio, has been described by the record label, Freshly Squeezed Music, as “quirky, lo-fi stoner dub”. Dace utilises unusual instrument combinations including ukulele, melodica, double bass, clarinet and saxophone with Ninja Tune style drums, electronica, and ambient elements.

In October 2007 Lodekka released his self-titled debut EP, citing influences from Fat Freddy’s Drop and Bonobo. The EP was released by Brighton-based record label Freshly Squeezed Music. Lodekka also features on the Eclectrik compilation, contributing the track “Yes Mr. B”.
