Lod Railway Station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lod Railway Station is a railway station in Lod, Israel, served by all the main railway lines of Israel Railways. The station is located in the HaRakevet district of south Lod. Bus routes 11, 461, 248, 249 and 460 stop at the station. In December 2006, Lod Station served a daily average of 7786 passengers.[1]
While serving a smaller amount of passengers than central stations such as Tel Aviv HaShalom and Haifa Hof HaCarmel, Lod is a major railway depot and traces its history as such to the 19th century, when it was used as an interim station on the Jaffa-Jerusalem line.
