[edit] Copyright problem
The PD-Russia tag is inappropriate here. Neither the author is unknown nor did he die before 1954. --Lysytalk 08:03, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- The tag clearly states that copyright does not apply to over 50-yr old images belonging to Soviet legal etnities. --Irpen 08:38, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Right after that it says: "Works belonging to the former Soviet government or other Soviet legal entities published before January 1st, 1954, are also public domain in Russia". --Irpen 08:57, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe in Russia, but en.wiki is not Russia, so only the first sentence could potentially apply but it does not. --Lysytalk 09:17, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

- By this logic entile PD-Poland needs deprecated. Who knows whether Polish images PD in Poland are PD in US. You want to open this can of worms? Take it to commons and some there will be happy to pick it up. I never attempted to assault a single Polish image though, although this dubious tag just calls for someone to act on it. --Irpen 09:20, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

- But back to this image there is (1) no copyright violation but (2) an unethical behavior of certain users willing to resort to frivolous copyright talk, assault images, etc. in order to prevail in the content dispute. I am not surprised since this is not the first time I see that. --Irpen 09:35, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

- Hard-coding POV, quite the sneaky tactic, this image name. Im sure a few victims of this "liberation" would beg to differ. Truthseeker 85.5 00:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
