[edit] Painting?

This pic looks like a painting rather than a photo... //Halibutt 09:09, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes indeed this a painting. It seems Irpen didn't notice that.

[edit] Alteration

I was not satisfied with the image, the civilians were still not enthusiastic enough, so I slightly modified it. What do you say? //Halibutt 16:48, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

No, it's not a painting. It is a purposefully damaged by the source cite version of the image displayed at the site's free version. Full version is promissed to the paid subrscibers only. However, since I found an excellent and better resoltuion image on the same topic (Image:Lodz_liberation3.jpg) I don't care about your making a WP:Point out of this one since it is not needed at all. You may even draw horns on the heads of the Russians whose culture you claimed to be in love with. You've already used an ethnic slur to refer to them [1] as well as proudly call for partitioning of their country at your talk.
Just make sure you tag the image properly, it is not the original PD-USSR once you altered it. --Irpen 20:51, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
A u vas negrov ubyvayut... Irpen, if you have nothing to add on the topic, refrain from adding just anything, it's completely pointless and has little to do with this discussion. If you want to complain about my alleged guilts - there is a better way and place to do it than spamming an irrelevant talk page. //Halibutt 22:11, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

What I added is very much on topic. It is comment on your action of frivolously altering the image of soldiers some of who died chasing Nazis out of Poland. Yes, they brought another rule impose on the Poles. You might have preferred the Nazi rule perhaps. At least I didn't see you uploading altered pics of the Nazi butchers to Wikipedia. I have no idea why you chose the Soviet soldier image for your games. I can only guess.

The original tag doesn't apply. As PD, image allows derivative work. You worked on it and can produly tag it as GFDL-self or PD-self. This is not a Soviet times image anymore. Please do not restore an inapplicable tag. You can tag the image for deletion as well as an orignal one for what I care. It is unused and with the better quality Lodz_liberation3.jpg available, this is going to be orphaned anyway. Frivolous alterantions to the images that are bound to be orphaned are less likely to be spotted. I would have even preferred if it is deleted. --Irpen 00:13, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
