I was a member of the local church in San Jose, CA during the mid-to-late 1980's. They have an interesting take on Christianity but are much to exclusive of other Christian churches and associations. So much so that they alienate themselves and are therefore sometimes vilified. Admittedly, some of thier practices could be called "cultish". For example they recommend cutting off all personal ties with anyone not a member of the same organization including friends and family members. If that's not cultish I don't know what is. Still, if you want to join one this might be one of the least harmfull cults around!
