Loch McNess is a freshwater lake located near Yanchep
It is part of the chain of lakes in the Swan coastal plain of Perth, Western Australia.
It is part of the Yanchep National Park and water from the lake is being used to refill the underground lakes in some nearby caves [1].

Galaxiidae (fish) and Gilgies (freshwater crayfish) are endemic to the region. Introduced species include mosquitofish ( Gambusia )

The lake is also known as Wagardu Lark by the Nyoongar aboriginals [3] and along with the caves is of significant cultural importance [4]
Since European colonisation of the area and specifically with the building of Glouster Lodge on it's shores in the '30s [5] it has traditionally been used for boating outings. It is still possible to hire a dingy to row on the lake.
