Loch Broom (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Bhraoin, loch of rain showers)[1] is a sea loch located in Ross and Cromarty, Scotland. The small town of Ullapool lies on the eastern shore of the loch. Alternatively, the reference to broom is thought to be derived from the spreading yellow gorse.
