LocalCooling is a software published by Uniblue Systems. Its goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by modifying the power profiles of host computers to reduce power usage. Power savings are done by powering the monitor off, spinning down hard drives, and putting the system in hibernate or shutdown modes. The software also attempts to calculate power savings based on a proprietary database, and publishes member stats on their website with the gathered statistics.
