Lobotomizer is the debut album of the Norwegian band Motorpsycho, released in 1991. The album has a raw sound and style (mostly heavy metal and grunge)> However, it has been called the band's weakest record. The album includes the live-performance crowd-favourite "Hogwash". The title track and the song "Eternity" show a less aggressive side of the band's sound.

[edit] Miscellanea

  • "T.F.C." stands for "True Fine Citizen". It's a song about a double moraled man who is respected in society but molests his children at home.
  • The original vinyl edition (limited to 1000 ex) had a gatefold cover with printed lyrics (and psychedelic artwork).
  • This is the only album of Motorpsycho (prior to "Black Hole/Blank Canvas") that does not include Håkon Gebhardt on drums.
  • "Hogwash" and "Frances" were later recorded in outlaw country style for The Tussler - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. "Hogwash" then also included some verses of the Lobotomizer title track.
  • "Eternity" includes a poem written by William Blake and some strange effects. (Bent: "Pitched down to Swans territory, and echoed to death")
  • They made a promotional video for the song "Grinder".
