Loara High School is an International Baccalaureate, public, four-year American high school in the Anaheim Union High School District, located in the city of Anaheim in Orange County, California. The campus consists of about 2,200 students and over 100 faculty members.

To provide an environment for students to strive and innovate in service of their community and themselves.

As of 2006, the campus' over 2,400 students consist of the fellow percentage of ethnic groups: 1% American Indian,9% Asian, 1% Pacific Islander, 3% Filipino,62% Hispanic, 2 African-American, 22% Caucasian. Over half of the student qualify for the reduced lunch program. Nearly one fourth of the students participate in an English learners program.

The State Assembly Area is the 68th, Senate Area is the 34th, and the Congressional Area is the 47th.

Loara was established in 1962 and is one of eight comprehensive high schools within the district. The school's name is said to be an amalgamation of the names Laura and Sara, the daughters of an early Anaheim pioneer.
In 1971, Then-California Governor and Future U.S. President Ronald Reagan visited the Loara campus on a tour of the city of Anaheim.
The school has recently undergone modernization under Bond Measure Z, which includes two gyms, a science building, and a math building. Loara has an IB program that is currently going through reconstruction also. In 2006, the campus completed an extensive technology improvement plan. This includes the construction of the prototype for "Classroom of the Future", two technologically advanced rooms that were designed to model future prospects.

Sammy Saxon is the mascot for Loara High School. His appearance is interpreted in many ways, but they mostly depict a caricaturized Anglo-Saxon warrior. He came under fire in 2002 when California Assembly Bill 2115 was introduced by Democratic assembly member Jackie Goldberg, which would ban any ethnically-based public school mascots [1] The bill failed

The student athletes compete in the CIF-SS Empire League. Loara has varied success in a variety of sports. Loara has a long-standing rivalry with Katella High School

Loara houses two halls of fame: one for general alumni and past faculty. Another is specifically for accomplishments within the sport of wrestling.
Coach John Dahlem (1970-84) established a Hall of Fame for Loara wrestlers in 1971, after contacting former Loara wrestling coaches Luis Ruiz (1965-67 and 1969), and Tom Dorosky (1968-70) (see Brief History below)

- Robin Tosawi Marshall Native American Film Consultant Credits include Ron Howard's Alamo and Chuck Norris TV Series Walker Texas Ranger;
- Augie Nieto, founder of Lifefitness and inventor of the Lifecycle. Augie has recently become a spokesman for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and was featured on the cover of Parade Magazine.
