[edit] Successors

I have removed this text as incorrect:

"In 1955 the LNER electric units were replaced by British Rail Class 416 electric units."

The LNER units worked the North Tyneside lines and continued in use under British Railways. The new BR units replaced older North Eastern Railway units on the South Tyneside line. Biscuittin (talk) 18:14, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
