LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0 No. 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier was built at Armstrong Whitworth in 1937. She is one of 18 surviving Black 5's.

[edit] Withdrawal
This member of the class was one of the final Black 5's withdrawn on August 4, 1968. The late Peter Beet, whose son owns LMS Jubilee Class 5690 Leander, and millionaire David Davis visited Lostock Hill to choose a locomotive to save. They chose No. 45407.

She became part of the "Steamtown" collection at Carnforth and was actually painted in Furness Railway red livery for some time, but was painted into LMS black livery in 1980. She is now back in BR livery and owned by Ian Riley, who also owns BR standard class 4 2-6-0 no. 76079. It is based on the East Lancashire Railway and is currently main-line registered.
