Hello Lmc2040, I have moved some of the information you provided in Leichhardt, New South Wales suburb article to the more apptoriate Municipality of Leichhardt local government area article. Can I also suggest that you use the 'Show Preview' button to check you information, rather than use 'Save Change' for every edit. Cheers J Bar (talk) 05:45, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Lmc 2040, Your information has been included in the Municipality of Leichhardt article. Please do not revert the Leichhardt, New South Wales suburb article. 203.102.44.225 (talk) 06:47, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Leichhardt page

Hello J Bar I work at Leichhardt Council, in Leichhardt library in particular and have been asked to work on and to maintain this page. I have not yet finished and will probably enquire about accessing rights on this page from Wiki themselves. I would appreciate it if you could let me do this without alarm. Regards Richard —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lmc2040 (talkcontribs) 06:11, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

G'Day Richard
All contributions are appreciated, but removal of existing photos and information is considered vandalism. As part of the Sydney Suburbs Project, we have a sandard for all the SUBURB articles on wikipedia. With your changes, you are diverting from the standard template. As I stated above, the information you are providing belongs on the MUNICIPALITY OF LEICHHARDT page and not on the suburb page. Many other contributors have made such changes in the past and have created muddled articles.

Can you please keep to the standard? All the information regarding the suburb belongs in Leichhardt, New South Wales and all the information regarding the local government area belongs in Municipality of Leichhardt. You are welcome to add any information as long as it conforms to the article standards. Please have a look at some of the other similar suburbs/local government areas with extensive contributions such as Kogarah, New South Wales and Municipality of Kogarah. Cheers J Bar (talk) 07:07, 9 January 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Leichhardt page

Hello there, I started working on a page, one page, the Leichhardt, New South Wales page and people on here have taken pictures and text I've written and placed it in the Leichhardt Municipality page. I am from Leichhardt Council and new to Wiki, but am trying to get rights on this page. Thanks Richard

Please keep in mind that wikipedia is an encyclopedia and all articles should be written in that style. Any article that seems to be written as an advertisement or point of view will be speedily deleted. I suggest you check the Wikipedia guidelines before altering articles and perhaps view some of the other suburb articles to see what standard has been maintained:. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:36th Battalion Park.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:36th Battalion Park.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 08:29, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded

Thanks for uploading Image:36thBattalionPark.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:36th Battalion Park.jpg. The copy called Image:36th Battalion Park.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 08:44, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia commons

G'Day Richard, I've noticed you've uploaded some great photos for Leichhardt. I have a suggestion that you might like to take up. You might want to sign up to Wikimedia Commons and upload your photos there. This enables your photos to be used in any Wikimedia project and not just Wikipedia - so people from other language projects, Wikitravel, etc. can all use the photos. You need to go here and sign up (as "Lmc2040") and then you click on "Upload file" on the left and upload your files as per normal. You can also use categories like [[Category:Sydney]] for Sydney-related photos and [[Category:Train stations in Sydney]] for beaches, railway station pics etc... (lots of other categories connected to the Sydney pages also). This will save those users who want to use them on other projects a lot of time having to download your photos and then reupload them in other projects. These photos can then also be added to the Leichhardt page in wikipedia commons. Cheers. J Bar (talk) 21:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
