LM-33 - Soviet tram with 4 axis, produced by Leningradskiy vagonoremontny plant from 1933 to 1939.

In early 1930s D. I. Kondratiev in a group of Leningrad specialists visited America to learn about local developments. Over the foundation for a new model of the Leningrad tram was taken tram construction Peter Witt. The design was modified in accordance with domestic requirements: in particular, have been reduced width of the wagon. Release was established at the Leningradsky vagonoremontny plant. Wagon was named MA (Motorny Amerikanskogo tipa), and its trailing changed - PA (Pritsepnoy Amerikanskogo tipa), popularly quickly established nickname "American". Later by political reasons wagon name was changed to LM-33 (Leningradsky Motorny projekta 1933 goda) and LP-33 (Leningradsky Pritsepnoy projekta 1933 goda), respectively.
LM-33 and LP-33 were issued from 1933 to 1939.

Trains LM-33 - LP-33 were worked in Leningrad from 1933 until March 18, 1979[1].

Until our days 2 copies of LM-33 are survived in the electric transportation museum in Saint Petersburg : passenger wagon № 4275 (under way) and the loading platform at the LM-33 № 4435 (awaiting restoration). Also there is a passenger wagon LP-33 № 4454 under way.
