Lloyd's MIU is a marine information portal located in the UK (Offices in London, Colchester and Oxford) and employing over a thousand people in their offices in the UK, the USA (New York) and Singapore, as well as analysts and researchers in Athens, Barcelona, Mumbai and Vancouver to collect and process maritime information. Lloyd's MIU (LMIU) is a division of Informa plc, a FTSE 200 company and publisher of Lloyd's List. The company offers a comprehensive intelligence service and also works in the areas of performance improvement and management consulting for its clients.

Lloyd's MIU has a 300 year old history in providing information to the maritime world. Tracking vessel movements has developed into a unique global competence since the early days - the Lloyd's List got its name back in 1734, when it was a journal listing ship arrivals and departures.

Lloyd's MIU offers a wide range of services geared towards vessel movement data. Essential shipping data is available online via their website, which provides AIS movements on over 120,000 vessels, casualty and characteristics data, as well as a huge database of 163,500 shipping companies and 13,500 credit reports accessible online 24 hours a day. They take advantage of the data received from hundreds of sources around the world. In most instances they are able to pinpoint the most elusive vessels. Their Premium Vessel Tracking Service is the most up-to-date and proactive service in the market today.
