[edit] Pinball

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I've taken the liberty of moving your personal info to your user page, I hope I'm not too bold.

I see you've worked for Williams, that's awesome! That makes you the closest thing we have to an expert, I'm willing to bet. :-) As for how you can help? That's really easy: be bold. When we say anyone can edit, we really mean it. Do whatever you like to articles; if people don't like it, they'll tell you (so stay cool as well).

The biggest gripe I have with our current article is that it's, well, crap. It focuses on how pinball machines generally work from the player's perspective, and that's a really poor topic for an encyclopedia. Where's the history of pinball? Where are the notable pinball machines? Look at Category:Arcade games—then look at Category:Pinball games and weep.

Pinball is a large topic. I think we'll need to split it in things like history of pinball, pinball machine, pinball simulation, glossary of pinball terms (what do we mean when we talk about ramps, bumpers, spinners, multiball, magna-save...). The organization can come later, however; for now we could use pinball as the main hub for everything and split things off as they become larger.

I've so far only been planning to overhaul this mess, but I only have so much time—I usually do small stuff on the 'pedia, not completely rewrite articles. Then again, my mistake is assuming I have to do it all alone, and all at once. We can work on this one edit at a time.

Anything you can do or add will be good, from nothing at all to fixing typos to writing completely new stuff. We're all volunteers. Don't worry about making mistakes or flying in the face of stylistic conventions, it can easily be corrected. And, of course, if there's anything you want to add to Williams, feel free to do so. And if you know any other pinball enthusiasts who might be interested in becoming Wikipedians, spread the word!

Lastly: there's the Village pump for questions on anything, and you can always drop a note on my talk page. Again, welcome, and happy editing! JRM 09:59, 2005 Mar 16 (UTC)

[edit] Steve Ritchie / Pat Lawlor articles

I wrote the Steve Ritchie article, and added some info on Pat Lawlor.

Can you help me find any more info about them?

Also, thanks for providing info about Nicastro buying Williams from XCOR. Did I get the date correct? I found this info from the flyers. DuoDeathscyther 02 00:50, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
