[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Copy of IMG 0229.JPG
Thank you for uploading Image:Copy of IMG 0229.JPG. However, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

[edit] License tagging for Image:Dolgopolov.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Dolgopolov.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Tagging
Please refrain from naming images after yourself, or inserting "image by alina" into articles. Thanks. yandman 10:39, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
I've nominated an "article" you've created, because it consists only of a photo of a guy with a tennis racket. yandman 10:47, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Final warning
Do not sign or watermark images. These will immediately be deleted. All images uploaded under the GFDL are no longer "yours", and Wikipedia is not for promoting yourself. Please continue to add photos, but don't "sign" them. thanks. yandman 11:05, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Please don't continue this. Your photos are great, and you could really help us here, but this is a firm rule we have. Thankyou, yandman 11:13, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Explanations
Sorry for my rather harsh tone earlier, but I didn't want you to waste your time uploading images which will all be deleted. If you read our image use policy, you will see this sentence:
"Also, user-created images may not be watermarked, distorted, have any credits in the image itself or anything else that would hamper their free use, unless, of course, the image is intended to demonstrate watermarking, distortion etc. and is used in the related article. All photo credit should be in a summary on the image description page."
I hope you understand that continuing to add images with your name on them will be construed as self-promotion, which is unacceptable here. If you could reply to these messages to show you have understood, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. yandman 13:17, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Signing
Alina, you're really going to have to stop signing your name in articles. Patience is wearing thin. yandman 15:51, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Replaceable fair use Image:Mayer.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Mayer.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 13:46, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Mayer.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Mayer.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:20, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
