Living Corban

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Living Corban were a Christian punk/rock band formed in late 1999/early 2000, in Miami, Florida. The band started with its core members, Jonathan and David Roberts, and Chris and Meagan Jimenez.

The band went through many changes over the years, they began as a band called "Corban", which is Hebrew for "gift to God". The band played a few gigs as "Corban". They played mostly for B.T.Y.F.H., the younger kids youth group at Bible Truth Chapel in Miami, Florida. After a while together Meagan left Bible Truth and the band was reduced to a trio for the rest of the year.

Then towards the end of the next year, which was 2001, the band changed their name to Living Corban, which gave their title a deeper meaning (living gift to god). After a few performances for Bible Truth's Drama Ministry, and for In His Sight (the teen youth ministry at Bible Truth Chapel), a fourth member was added, Adriana Alonso, who was a keyboardist. After some gigs as a four piece band, LC gained a drummer, Andy Fritchey. Then a short time later, and after performing two gigs with the band as the guest bassist, Alexis Jimenez (Chris's sister) joined. Living Corban continued as a six piece band for a year and a half. They played in various places such as Camp Horizon in Leesburg (Varsity 2 banquet), Pembroke Pines (You For the Price of One concert), and at their home assembly Bible Truth Chapel (V-Day in Blue I and II). After these performances and more, during the years 2004-2005, one of the keyboardists, Adriana Alonso, decided to take a leave of absence and LC was reduced to a five piece band.

The band wrote their final chapter in March of 2006. They finally parted ways after six years of great music and love for the lord. The members still play together some times but that linking factor is gone. Still, the times they had together and memories they shared will live on forever.
