Live in Memphis is Céline Dion's fourth home video release. Originally filmed on March 14, 1997 during the Falling into You Tour, camera crews caught up with Céline Dion in Memphis, Tennessee delivering another show-stopping performance.
Including previously unreleased live performances from her multi-platinum album Falling into You, this 17 song concert-length program also features a rare performance of "The Power of the Dream" written exclusively for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, and The Isley Brothers song, called "Twist and Shout." Taro Hakase played violin on "To Love You More", Marc Langis (band member) joined Dion on "J'irai où tu iras" and Terry Bradford (backup singer) on "Beauty and the Beast." Dion performed also "River Deep, Mountain High." Although it was shown on TV, the song wasn't included on the home video.
Live in Memphis was released on VHS on November 20, 1998. The DVD was supposed to be released on February 27, 2008 in Japan but it was postponed.[1]
It was certified gold in Canada (50,000 copies) and France (10,000 copies).
Three songs from this concert were included on the All the Way… A Decade of Song & Video in 2001.
