[edit] About

Live In Gdańsk is an upcoming live album by David Gilmour. It is a part of his On An Island project which includes an album, tour, DVD and now a live album.

It is a recording of the final show of his On An Island tour in 2006, where he played to an audience of 50,000 to celebrate Poland's 1980 revolution. The show stands out as being the only show on the tour to feature the song A Great Day for Freedom, which appears on Pink Floyd's album, The Division Bell from 1994.

Gilmour and his band were backed by the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zbigniew Preisner and Leszek Mozdzer on piano.

The album will be a double album and will include a bonus DVD containing 114 minutes of concert footage from the Gdańsk concert featuring all of On An Island plus "Astronomy Domine", "A Great Day For Freedom", "High Hopes", "Comfortably Numb" and "Echoes"[1][2]. The DVD will also contain a 36 minute documentary.

The 5 disc set contains all of the following below as well as a twenty page booklet (the other versions - 12 page booklet) and these items of memorabilia: reproduction postcard, ticket, backstage pass and artist's pass; a large double-sided poster, a guitar pick/plectrum and seven photographs.
