Live at the Matterhorn was the first album that Fat Freddy's Drop officially released and was the one that started the ball rolling for this seven piece dub/reggae/roots band. Recorded live it sees 'The Drop' in inspired improvisational form at the well known Wellington venue in Cuba Mall, New Zealand. The cover of the album features a photo of The Bucket Fountain, which is located near The Matterhorn in Cuba Mall. Although this album only contains four songs it plays for 78 minutes. The album was put out of print in 2004 but after such a large demand for their second album, Based on a True Story the move was made to re-release it on June 24, 2005 and has since gone Gold, selling over 10,000 copies.
