Live at Winterland '68 was a collaborative album when Janis Joplin was still with Big Brother and The Holding Company. It was recorded at the Winterland Ballroom on April 12, 1968 and April 13, 1968. This album shows Janis and Big Brother and the Holding Company at the height of their mutual career working through an inspired selection of tracks from their studio albums. The only songs from this album to make it onto their next album Cheap Thrills were "Ball and Chain", "Piece of My Heart", "Summertime", "I Need a Man to Love", and "Combination of the Two".
