Live Shot is a short-lived American drama television show starring Tom Byrd that aired in 1995. It was part of UPN's line-up during its disastrous first year. Like every other program on UPN that year, except Star Trek: Voyager, Live Shot did not survive a full season.
Live Shot, along with sitcoms Platypus Man and Pig Sty, comprised UPN's first ever night of programming.
The show centered on a TV news program in Los Angeles. It was an ensemble piece, one of the rare occasions in television where there was no true main character.
Most notable in the show's run was an early use of an ongoing story arc centering around the murder of a Los Angeles socialite. As the show was canceled with little warning, the story arc was never resolved. Also, sports reporter Lou Waller came out of the closet in the last act of the last episode to air. Consequently, the fallout of this event was never shown.
Live Shot has never been broadcast since its original airing (though a full set of reruns were aired on UPN in the spring of 1995). The chances of a DVD release are scarce.
