Live Phish Vol. 11 was recorded live at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado on November 17, 1997.

The 1997 fall tour will always be remembered by fans as the "funk" era of Phish, which saw the band trading in their technical prowess for simple, groove-based jams and extended space improvisations. This show from Denver was instantly a band and fan favorite, as Phish planned to release the album long before the Live Phish Series came to fruition.

Highlights include the extended opener "Tweezer" and a long, high-energy version of "Ghost", as well as a twelve minute improvisational jam following a version of Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode".

Bonus tracks include two songs from the concert at Assembly Hall in Champaign, Illinois on November 19, 1997, featuring a half-hour version of "Wolfman's Brother".
