Liu Yong (Chinese:刘墉;pinyin:liú yǒng) (February,1949- ).He was born in Taipei and became a famous writer and painter. Liu Yong's father died when he was 11 in 1958. In 1962, the house caught on fire but he and his mom survived from it. He graduated from Cheng Kung Senior High School,theNational Taiwan Normal University and obtained a Doctorate in the Columbia University. He was once an art teacher in Cheng Kung Senior High School. He was invited by the National Taiwan Museum of History for a art exhibition of the modern painters and the national one. From November 30th, 1971 to April 5th, 1974, he hosted the China Television quiz show "Seconds Count Down" for the first time of his life as a television show host.From 1973 to 1977, he was hired as a journal of China Television. In 1978, he was hired as the Representative of China Television in America. In 1980, he became the school artist of St. John's University (Jamaica, NY).

Besides his achievements on painting, he has also published many essays. His essays can be divided into two genres, one kind is about how to get along with people and other one is inspirational essay. Those essays are usually the best-seller among the Chinese people area.
