[edit] Advertisments
- Why doesn't Wikipedia allow advertisments? Littleghostboo[ talk ] (Win an argument and leave your mark in history.)12:02, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know. Maybe it's because Wikipedia doesn't want some people that are not so desirable to advertise something not so desirable(like porn sites) for the safety of all users of Wikipedia!Ready4Victory 09:56, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, perhaps, but I think there may be a better reason. Littleghostboo[ talk ] (Win an argument and leave your mark in history.) 03:06, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
- Take a look at {{Qxz-ads}} for a rotating userpage advertisement banner. Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 23:04, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- This is an encyclopedia, not an ad station. Besides, everyone hates ads. No one really pays a heck of a lot of attention. I do, sometimes. --Defender 911 01:11, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
- The 'try-not-to-make-it-sound-like-an-advertisement' policy supports a role in ensuring that all encyclopedic content IS encyclopedic, especially when comparing products. E.g I saw a version of the article 'Granado Espada' and it was written like an advert and that made it sound like the best among the games. Telling us about the content is fine, but STRESSING is far too extreme. Metalflame 10:35, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Encyclopedic
- What exactly is considered encyclopedic? Sometimes, practically 3 quarters of an article gets deleted because it is "not encyclopedic", when it is obviously information about the topic! One example is on my watchlist: Millsberry.
