[edit] The genetic classification of Litchifieldite
There is no doubt that these rocks were affected by the metamorphism and this is the origin of some unique features present in litchfieldite: subsolvus paragenesis of feldspar, gnaissic and foliation, orientation of the nepheline optical axis, and so on. In some occurrence there was a certain grade of anatexis and the production of real igneous anatetic pgmatite, like in CanaĆ£ massif (Brazil).
I indicate in this case to adopt the same formula that was used to describe "Charnockite": metamorphosed igneous rocks.
I think that is the best way to satisfy the geologists who have difficulties to accept litchifieldite as metamorphic rock.
