Little Bytham

Little Bytham is a scenic small village in South Kesteven in south Lincolnshire situated between Corby Glen and Stamford on the B1176, which is straddled by viaducts of the East Coast Main Line as the road passes through the village. Nearby to the east is the West Glen River. To the west is Castle Bytham and to the east is Witham on the Hill and the vast estate of Grimsthorpe Castle.
The church is dedicated to two unknown French saints, St Medard and St Gildard. The vicar lives in Essendine. The much-frequented village pub is the Willoughby Arms on Station Road, named after Baron Willoughby de Eresby and home of the Newby Wyke Brewery, which produces Norwave ale. The Mallard pub (named after the record-breaking locomotive, not the duck) closed in 2002.
