The Literary and Debating Society (or LnD) is the only debating society in NUI Maynooth, and as such, it provides an open forum for discussion and debate of a wide range of topics.
[edit] History
The exact history of the society is not know, having only been really chronicled within the last 10 to 15 years. Within that short space of time, however, the society have been a driven force about the campus of NUI Maynooth. The society has accomplished many things in this short history, including the staging of a 168 hour continuous debate, the orchestration of The Love Squad, and many other events in the college
Within the last two years (2005 and 2006), the society have won the Most Improved Society, and the Best Society awards respectively[citation needed]. This is a testament to the hard work put into the running of the society by recent committees
[edit] Activities
The LnD organise many events in NUI Maynooth, involving both staff and students on campus, and a number of people from off campus also,
