[edit] Country subdivisions - Provinces, districts, counties and such
Tables similar to the below are used for provinces, states or districts in Cameroon, Germany, Brazil, and other countries, while US states, Japanese prefectures, Swedish counties and Finnish provinces use the country format (see the example for the country of Georgia below). The districts of Vietnam use a variety of colors, while this shade of light green is otherwise standard. Another exception are the states of Germany, which use a light orange (#FFDEAD). For the French departements a blue color is currently proposed.
Related Wiki-Projects which use a template: Thai provinces, German districts, Swedish counties, French départements, Chinese provinces, Finnish provinces, Japanese prefectures, Dutch municipalities.

[edit] Comarques of Catalunya
There is no English-language project for the Comarques of Catalonia, but we have more or less followed the style of the analogous infobox in the Catalan Wikipedia. The example below lacks a demonym (the name by which inhabitants of the region are known).
See Alt Empordà.
[edit] Finnish municipality
Although there is little need to create a dedicated project, an uniform way to enter the data for Municipalities of Finland would be in order. The following is translated from fi.wikipedia, Malline:Kunta. Changes: removed commented-out sections; added "Languages" section; "Emäpitäjä", the historical municipality has been removed → mention in a history section; "Kunnan/kaupunginjohtaja", the name of the municipal manager has been removed ← irrelevant, because this is not a political office like a mayor, but a public servant position. The year is added to the municipal tax part, because this may change by the decision of the council. The format for the languages part should be official languages in order of number of speakers, followed by the respective percentage, e.g. Swedish 73%, Finnish 25%.
Merged from is optional.

[edit] U.S. Regions: Official Regions
This template is used for official US Regions (official in the sense of being used by the Census Bureau). We will probably eventually adopt a similar infobox for unofficial regions.

{{Infobox Hiking trail}} is the primary template to be used in articles about specific hiking trails. The example on the right shows a good example of how a trail template is properly used. The template has recently been updated to remove the unknown values for any feature left blank and to condense the infobox for trails with little information about them.
[edit] Usage
The minimum information required to use a template are:
- Name of the trail
- Length of the trail (preferrably in miles and kilometers)
- Location of the trail including park, state, county or region where appropriate and country.
- Trailheads (Where trail begins and ends)
- Use (always at least Hiking)
Additional information that may go the Trails Template include:
- Photo of some area of the trail (preferrably with a minimum width of 300px)
- Any designation which the trail has received e.g. UK National Trail or U.S. National Scenic Trail.
- The elevation change (the sum of the altitude climbed or descended through the trail)
- The highest point in the trail
- The lowest point in the trail
- The difficulty of the trail for a typical healthy person (use best judgement)
- The season(s) that the trail may be hiked, or is easily accessible
- The months that the trail may be hiked, or is easily accessible
- Significant sights along the way
- Major hazards that a hiker needs to watch out for
