[edit] Concerns

I saw this template on an Idaho-related article and was confused by it. I have several concerns about this template.

  1. The template is extremely large
  2. The template has duplicate information. Is it possible to use the list in a box or the map, but not both?
  3. No visual separation from the article. Without a border or lines, it is difficult to realize this is not part of the article.

Is it possible to make this an article and link each City-Temple article to that new article?

Is it possible to create a box similar to Template:Idaho? --Robbie Giles 23:27, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

This template was designed to be used on each of the temple pages as well as the Geographic list of temples. It is designed to be "part of the article" and not an infobox or image block. A template does not have to be a small part of a page, or an infobox, but can be a large chunk of information useful on several pages. There are (I think) 7 other templates just like this for temples all over the world. See the Geographic list for them all. I also think they are listed on my talk page. Hope this clarifies things. I still have problems with the size of the template and duplication of information in so many articles. If it is in its own article, why not just wikilink to that article? It adds little to the specific temple page and I find it distracting from the topic of this particular article. I must admit that part of my reaction is the "unbalanced" (visual, not content or criticism) nature of the template. I am rather afraid I am too used to article text following on the left side. I hit the list in the template and it beaks the flow of the article. I still think it best to visually break for a template with a line or box. The size of it dwarfs most of the articles it is included in. --Robbie Giles 15:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

This seems to be a bad use of the template space. I converted the list to a true navigation box that fits well into the articles. Please feel free to add/change/delete. Regards. --Old Hoss 23:02, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Adding

How do I add the location of the Phoenix Arizona Temple so that it shows on the map? I don't know how to do that. Carter | Talk to me 11:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

I figured it out. Sorry. Thanks. Carter | Talk to me 12:09, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
