Talk:Lister Centre

Of course the entry about the food is biased - anyone who has lived in Lister is biased about the food (I lived there for four years). In the mid-80's someone put up a (dot-matrix-printed) sign that named the cafeteria "The Killing Fields".
So, I could try to put something together (that wasn't already printed in the Gateway) but it wouldn't be much less biased - I'm sure everyone there at the time remembers the "Turkey Tetrachloride" just as fondly as I do...Hendayman 22:18, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
I can remember a slate of candidates during a students union election back in the 1980s that took a jab at food and housing at the U of A with the campaign promise, "Students should have both housing and food."
I suppose what we have to do is find a way to phrase the section about food in a way that doesn't sound like a bunch of former students complaining about attempted food poisoning. Maybe take out some of the more negative material. 66.48.175.41 (talk) 04:25, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Biased?
- "Coveted John Paul Cup" that's existed for a grand total of two years under that particular name (3 years total for the entire LDL). It probably would also be best if there was more note about the LDL and the awards it won instead of talking about who won the actual league.
- The last line (which has a citation needed note) isn't as true as I wish it were. Stuff like the Henday riots have given it equal reputation as being a party residence.
Actually, there's plenty lacking and I'll hopefully get a chance to start working on the page in a bit --Forgottenlord 01:36, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and the LHSA doesn't have any involvement in running the facility. They're the student body and while they host a lot (most) of the activities, they don't actually run the place --Forgottenlord 01:39, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
I'll help work on this page (lived in Lister for 2 years), but it definitely needs a few more people from Lister to register and work on it. As it stands now, it's basically just being edited and re-edited by anon users.--Darrel UofA 19:08, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
