[edit] Poljot Watches
Seems to me like they are still in production or at least have resumed production. No indication on the website they stopped, and lots of dealers are selling new models I've never seen before. Lost Cosmonaut 21:01, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] An aside
Anyone else think that this page'd be ideal to add to their Watchlist? :) GeeJo (t) (c) • 13:49, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Spirit Watches
Spirit Watches; listed in the (English) Argos catalogue as analogue watchmakers who make nice watches with interchangeable bezels and straps. Anyone find their site, as I cannot? Lady BlahDeBlah 20:38, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Category
Why not have a Category of firms that currenty made watches. Snowman 13:57, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
There already is a Category:Watchmakers that appears to be much better maintained and less open for abuse/self-promotion. Wrs1864 18:09, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
OTOH, it doesn't have redlinks, which I think might be appropriate in some cases, or context. For example, this list could be sorted by country, or date, or any other way that would be useful to readers. Anyway, I'm going to ahead and strip out the link pages just because they're not what Wikipedia is for. FrozenPurpleCube 22:11, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
SHELBY, This category could be improved by two designations, in that there are "manufactured brands" and "marketing brands" which are not true Swiss manufacturers but only retrofit certain complications added to the original base movement of another manufacturer, disassemble watch movements and rework to provide greater artistic appearance, or rework to establish greater precision and life span of the movements purchased from other manufacturers and incorporate in their own case design. When ETA (primary Swiss movement manufacturer) (SWATCH Group) limits distribution numbers to these type of "marketing brands" in 2010 then many will be required to actually manufacture their own movements. (Articles: WatchTime magazine 2005 thru January 2008). Bottom line: there are those "Brand names" that manufacture a complete watch in house and those "Brand names" that are believed to be Swiss watch manufacturers but purchase most of the manufactured parts and assemble or purchase the entire watch from a manufacturer with their name on the watch. Both categories are often thought of by the consumer as "watch manufacturers". Personally, I find this overall category most useful and more complete as an index to other Wikipedia information., 16:59 (DST), 27 March 2008, (US) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.255.172.23 (talk) 21:59, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Page Wikified
Ok, I've done a massive edit to this page to remove all the external links in the companies section. I know this has left some orphas, probably removed a few good companies, resulted in a few inappropriate links, and left a few that probably don't qualify, but I feel it was essential in making this list appropriate for Wikipedia. If you see any entries that you think should removed or added, feel free to do so, just don't put an external link in there, that is bad form. FrozenPurpleCube 22:32, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
