Why have a list of topics when we already have a notion of a category? Asteron 15:10, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- Because categories are vastly inferior to topics lists. Michael Hardy 19:51, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

- Um...... to be a little bit more specific: please look at list of mathematics lists and some of the longer lists to which it links. The list of mathematics lists is a magnificent thing; you could spend a long time exploring it. Michael Hardy 19:51, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

- Organized lists with some information is fine but this article is nothing more than an alphabeticle listing. This could be done with a category and would not require maintanence. Ohh well. Asteron 19:20, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Even without organization, this enjoys some of the benefits for which lists are so far superior to categories. It doesn't have invisible links to talk pages (yet). So maybe we should work on it. Also, this list is listed in the magnificent list of mathematics lists, so that alone is a good reason for this list to exist. Michael Hardy 23:05, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
