[edit] Purpose

I'm not quite sure what purpose this page serves... it seems quite repetative as well. Perhaps it would be better to have a page listing numbers of symphonies composed by different composers, sortable by their date (era?) and number, rather than making fairly generic statements about compositional tendencies. --EvanCortens (talk) 14:11, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
