Talk:List of state leaders in 2006
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A number of political entities that are not strictly nations, and often sub-national entites that are integral parts of a nation are listed here. Like Anjouan, Grande Comore, Moheli, Rodrigues, Southern Sudan, Zanzibar, Hong Kong, Macao, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Gorno-Badakhshan, Karakalpakstan, Bougainville, Nagorno-Karabakh, Nakhichevan, and well a few others that I can see offhand.
What standard are we using to determine what gets put here and what not? Are all the States of the United States of America or India going to get placed here? Entities that have defacto independence or separation (e.g, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Somaliland, or Kosovo) should probably be placed up, or territories that aren't fully integrated into a nation (e.g. Puerto Rico or Hong Kong probably should remain).

[edit] Serbia and Montenegro
The state of 'Serbia and Montenegro' was deleted from this list in June when the seperate states of Serbia and Montenegro were created, but surely as this state did exist in the first half of the year it should be part of the list. However I am not sure how it could be placed back in the list without causing confusion. Davewild 18:41, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
