Talk:List of songs by The Fratellis

[edit] Actual sources of commonly misattributed songs?
Naturally this isn't at all worthy of inclusion on the main page, but i'd much appreciate if anyone knows the provenance of several songs that have been misattributed to the band in some common 'bootleg collections', that some people have gone so far as to label as either Costello Music, or a fictitious self-titled album. I can only assume they are other, less successful bands with the same name, as they're clearly not the same group; the style, voices, instruments, etc all massively different both from the well-known Fratellis, and from each other.
EG:
- Billy, a slightly amateurish but passionate ska-punk tribute to someone's dead friend.
- A Place to Call My Own, a bit more mainstream rock with hints of david byrne/sparks/etc but again sounding like it was made in someone's bedroom.
- Go Home, another bedroom classic (reminiscent of school bands of my own teenage years but with slightly higher production values), with some added twingy-twangy steel guitar/keyboard effects and samplers, chorusy shouting...
- Blue Britain, slightly workplace folk-rock, like aztec camera/the proclaimers/etc but lower tempo and lower register.
- One More Time, i'd tempted to say it's the same artist as APTCMO, just not reaching the higher registers as much this time. Similar feel, somewhat dark attitude and odd voice but more laid back.
There's probably more, but these are the only ones I've actually got (copied from a friend out of curiosity as the listing was markedly different from what's on the back of my Costello Music CD case), bundled together with a couple of B-sides/actual rarities and alternative versions of the better known songs. 82.46.180.56 (talk) 03:04, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
