Talk:List of sister cities in Florida
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] About this list
The list is checked against the official list by Sister Cities International and complemented by the State of Florida lists and media articles. The lists contain only relationships that have been filed with them and remove cancelled partnerships. The goal here was to create a more comprehensive list with former and current relationships. --Legionarius 16:35, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fort Lauderdale/Sao Sebastiao
I have removed the listing for this pairing, because it is apparently incorrect. It is listed by Sister Cities International at the link provided, but it is not on the list provided by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister Cities International site. I contacted GFLSCI, and the they informed me that São Sebastião is not a sister city of Fort Lauderdale; they are going to look into how the SSI list added São Sebastião. - What a mess. This list is hell.--Legionarius 15:23, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- We need to put a note somewhere, otherwise it will be disputed.--Legionarius 15:31, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

- As you noted on my talk page, the Miami list is hosed too. I have e-mailed SCI and asked for some clarification on the Miami and Fort Lauderdale lists, but I am not sure of the reliability of any of that list right now. Hopefully, my inquiry will act as a prod for the SCI people, and they will update the list as needed. Horologium t-c 16:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I found São Sebastião here. Those deals are done and go dormant. Maybe the ft laud people do not even know about them now. To keep a rule, I am choosing inclusionism. Coral Gables did not talk to Antigua for ten years and revived the partnership.--Legionarius 16:52, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- That does not mean that the city page must include those. This is a list and it must be comprehensive.--Legionarius 16:54, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
