I've bitten the bullet and wiki-linked all the school names listed here - it's a sea of red links, but it turns out a few of them already existed. Many more high school and district high schools outside the Hobart & Launceston areas are needed. -- Chuq 12:29, 8 August 2005 (UTC)

OK fine - you really want the full list? I've put it in and I think it looks messy, but I suppose it's up to everyone to pitch in and write their articles now! --tilgrieog

Technically the full list would include the several hundred primary schools as well. I think to add them would be going a bit far. I can't see many of the high schools being written past stub length in the near future, but it's better that they be listed than not! -- Chuq 07:03, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
What would you guys think about using the table format we've tried at List of schools in the Australian Capital Territory? Ambi 08:43, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
I think the table idea at List of schools in the Australian Capital Territory is a great idea. It shows more info about each school and it separates the non-government schools properly, rather than just calling them 'private schools'. Nsmith 84 03:02, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
It might be an idea, if this was used in Tasmania, to have, say List of schools in Hobart, List of schools in Launceston and List of schools in regional Tasmania, so as to get around the size issues; we have the advantage with the ACT that the place is so small. Ambi 03:35, 31 October 2005 (UTC)
If you want to split the schools list up - then it would be best to split it into the 3 branches that is official split up into - Northern, Southern and North-Western. 211.27.69.28 14:50, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
There are 217 government schools in Tasmania in total. This includes 8 colleges, 31 high schools, 26 district schools, 138 primary schools, 8 support (special) schools, 4 early learning schools, 1 infant school and distance education. 211.27.69.28 14:47, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
You missed a few of the high schools & district high/district schools, and also - you got some of the names wrong - so I've corrected the list to the 'official names' for the schools and added the missing ones. 211.27.69.28 14:47, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Added more private schools and split them up into catholic and independant 211.27.69.129 12:58, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] AfD discussion

Note, current AfD discussion underway for schools linked to this list. Please go to WP:TAS to join in discussion to identify how to improve education related articles for Tasmania and to discuss the current deletion.Garrie 03:58, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ouse District High School / Lilydale District School

I have nominated the school for deletion here. Lilydale District School is more template than content and probably should go the same way. Garrie 23:51, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
