WikiProject Saints List of saints by name:A is part of the WikiProject Saints, an effort to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to Saints and other individuals commemorated in Christian liturgical calendars on Wikipedia. This includes but is not limited to saints as well as those not so affiliated, country and region-specific topics, and anything else related to saints. If you would like to participate, please visit the project page, where you can join the project and/or contribute to the discussion.

This page ended up on Wikisource last November. Similar lists beginning with other letters never materialized. Such lists are more easily wikified in Wikipedia where items on the individual saints can be written, than in Wikisource where relevant biographies will be linked to the Wikipedia article. [edit] Same name saints?

Are there multiple instances of several saints with the same name? I notice that there are two saint Abbos, for example. Joyous 23:34, Oct 22, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Saints with multiple names

I have the distinct feeling that St.Ansfrid is the same person as Ansfried of Utrecht. (they are both the Bishop of Utrecht in roughly the same period) Ivar Snaaijer 08:17, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Blessed and Saints

Though I know they are not the same, I am adding in those Blessed folk that fall under the scope of this list. If/when another list of beatified people is created, then I recommend the Blessed be moved there. Until that time, they might as well reside on this page. Trjumpet 02:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
